No-exam life insurance
What accelerated underwriting means, which applicants qualify, and what your options are if the carrier needs more information.
Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting: applicants within certain age and amount limits can get approval using application data, prescription history, motor-vehicle records and similar sources instead of a paramedical exam. Some say yes the same day. Every quote shows whether accelerated underwriting is available, required, or not offered for that policy.
What it changes
Accelerated decisions do not skip review. Your answers are checked, and a policy issued on incorrect information can be challenged within the first two years. The carrier may still ask for testing or an exam if something in its data checking raises a question; you can choose how to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Often applicants below 60 seeking amounts within each carrier's speed threshold, without serious health concerns and with at least a year tobacco-free, get rapid approval.
When an exam is needed, it typically involves a 20- to 30-minute appointment by a paramedical examiner, scheduled at your home or workplace in the Whittier region, at no charge to you. Test results often improve an applicant's rate class when health is good, so the exam is not inherently negative.
